Health Promoting Communication

We offer an accredited CPD course in Health Promoting Communication (HPC) (35 CPD Credits) for medical and health professionals. Health Promoting Communication (HPC) is an invaluable communication skill for health recovery, a healthy lifestyle and healthy behaviours. Health professionals and their employers are increasingly becoming more aware of the need for clear, effective and result orientated communication in their daily work. HPC helps them understand the power of verbal and non verbal language and gives them the tools and theories that effectively upgrade their skills in line with other professional competencies.

Health Promoting Communication (HPC) is an awareness and a skill to speak (verbal language) and be (non verbal language/body language) a resourceful communicator in health care. HPC is values based language designed and developed from the fields of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Health Coaching, Positive Psychology and Humanistic Psychology. Health professionals learn how to communicate clearly, easily and effectively with patients, authorities and in teams. Researchers have long been concerned with the role of health communication in health services as well as health promotion work. Communication is key when in personal contact, when collecting and disseminating information on health issues, and is a premise in order to realize ideals of democracy and participation in the health field. To simplify HPC is about ensuring the success of the concrete interaction between people (e.g. doctor/nurse/midwife - patient communication.)
