What is coaching
Coaching is a useful way of developing people’s skills and abilities, and of boosting performance. It can also help deal with issues and challenges before they become major problems. Put simply, coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather than on the distant past or future.
While there are many different models of coaching, here we are not considering the ‘coach as expert’ but, instead, the coach as a facilitator of learning. There is a huge difference between teaching someone and helping them to learn. In coaching, fundamentally, the coach is helping the individual to improve their own performance: in other words, helping them to learn.
Good coaches believe that the individual always has the answer to their own problems but understands that they may need help to find the answer.

How can I use the knowledge and skills?
Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.
A coaching session will typically take place as a conversation or practical exercise/walk between the coach and the client (the person being coached), and it focuses on helping the client discover answers for themselves. The coaching can be directed to career, health and lifestyle, personal development, economy, spirituality, and other areas of life, both personal as we as professional. There’s no Judgment or Fixed Agenda, but Have an Agreed Goal for Each Session.

What exactly is coaching?
Coaching is a process intended to help people develop their skills, increase performance, and tackle challenges in the present moment. Rather than the coach acting as the expert, the coach acts as a facilitator of learning, helping the client discover their own answers.
How is coaching different from teaching, therapy or mentoring?
• In teaching, information or content is imparted. In coaching, the individual is supported to uncover their own solutions.
• Coaching is not a substitute for therapy: therapy often deals with healing wounds from the past, trauma, and mental health conditions. Coaching focuses on growth, performance and the here & now.
• In mentoring, the mentor often passes on knowledge from their experience. In coaching, the emphasis is on eliciting the client’s own insights, not giving advice or prescriptions. What can I use coaching for?
Coaching can help across many domains, such as:
• Career direction and professional growth
• Health, lifestyle and wellness
• Personal development and self-realization
• Time management, stress management, balance in life
• Relationships or interpersonal issues
• Spiritual or existential questions
• Any area where you feel “stuck” and want clarity, momentum or transformationWhat happens in a coaching session?
• The coach and client typically engage in a conversational or experiential session (sometimes walking or doing activities)
• The coach helps the client define or refine a goal for that session
• The coach asks powerful questions, listens deeply, and uses methods to help the client gain insight, reframe, shift perspective, and take action
• There is no judgment or fixed agenda, other than the goal the client and coach agree onDoes the client need to have all the answers already?
No. A foundational assumption in coaching is that the client already has the potential and wisdom to find their answers. The coach’s role is to unlock that potential and support the client’s process.
How fast can I see results from coaching?
It depends on multiple factors:
• The clarity of your goals
• Your openness and willingness to act
• How willing you are to explore, experiment, and change
• The depth of the issue
Some shifts may occur even in one session; deeper changes often unfold over time with consistency.Do I need to be “broken” or in crisis to use coaching?
Absolutely not. Coaching is not just for people in crisis. It is useful for anyone wanting to grow, optimize, clarify, accelerate, or navigate transitions more skillfully.
Can coaching help with health and wellness?
Yes. Coaching can support behavior change, mindset shifts, motivation, accountability, clarity around wellness goals, stress management, and more. Many coaches work specifically in health, lifestyle, business, or holistic wellness domains.

• Personal chemistry (you should feel safe and seen)
• Whether the program offers support, community, or supervision
